What are the best kinds of Pots/Pans?

I need new pots/pans. I have old T-Fal brand ones and the non-stick is starting to come off of. I have a 2 year old and I know it can be dangerous if the non-stick stuff gets into food and you eat it. I worry especially for her health. I’m looking for new pots and pans but there are so many kinds I don’t know where to start. Can anyone offer advise?

You could get those stainless steel ones that have a copperbottom from JCPenny or Macy’s, they also don’t make noises like other heavy steel ones. Plus they are easy to clean and look pretty in the kitchen with a modern yet classical look ;)

I have some stainless steel pots and pans, and I don’t like them. Everything sticks to them. The best non-stick pans I have found are iron skillets. I’m talking about REAL iron skillets. They’re expensive, but if you take care of them, they are the best non-stick cookware availabe (in my opinion) You just have to ’season’ them when you’re done. They’re not like regular pots and pans that you just wash, then put in the drainer to dry. You have to let them dry on the stove top and get really hot, then pour like a teaspoon of cooking oil into it while it’s still hot and take a clean paper towel and rub it in evenly. Even eggs don’t stick if it’s done right!

I also have some club pots that work fairly deicent. They don’t have the teflon on the inside, but they’re good pots. The teflon is what you’re describing that is coming off and can be getting into your food.

    I hope I helped some.
