‘college.’
What could you make using ingredients from a college cafeteria?
I’m hungry for a home-cooked meal, but like any average college student, I’m broke with a capital B.
My cafeteria has the usual extensive salad bar, egg bar with seasonings, chopped up onions, meats, and veggies, oil, butter, and of course eggs. We have apples, oranges, and bananas, a breakfast bar with cereal, bread, butter, honey, brown sugar and Cinnamon, etc., and a stir fry bar with different stir fry sauces, rice, and stir fry veggies.
And here’s the menu for tonight: Carved Meatloaf, Jambalaya, Black Beans, Dirty Rice, fried Okra, Fresh Yellow Squash & Onions, Corn Muffins
Any ideas?
p.s. I have a kitchen and cooking utensils at my disposal.
What supplies should I remember when moving into an apartment for college?
I’m moving into a semi-furnished, so things like a desk, dresser, bed, coat-hangers, and kitchen supplies are provided. What other things (bedsheets, towels, etc) should I not forget, or are commonly forgotten items to take? Links to sites help also.
I did do some searching and couldn’t find anything ![]()
Thanks!
How to split costs in college apartment. please help!?
There are two other girls in our suite style apartment. Julie has agreed to buy the entertainment system and has already bought most of the kitchen appliances. She also wants to buy the TV and but not buy any of the living/dining room furniture. Julie thinks that the other room mate and I should split the costs of the furniture. The thing is, all of the things Julie is buying can be taken to her home after college. I will not be able to do anything with the crappy furniture after college- because who wants crappy furniture? In my opinion, it would be better to spend $1000 on the TV and kitchen utensils than $300 of furniture. I feel like the other room mate and I are being taken advantage because she gets to buy the things that can be used after college. Should I just shut up and pay for the cheap furniture or stand up to her and try to work something else out? Any suggestions for a good outcome in this situation would be greatly appreciated.
Going to college. What am I going to do with my cups, plates, pans, kitchenware?
Is there some type of storage so that I could keep that stuff in my room. I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting it anywhere else. This didn’t occur to me until recently. I would think that a lot of people have these things, so what do THEY do with it? I’m bringing a 15″ pizza pan, too, so I need something a little big.
